TINNITUS ASSESSMENTS
A tinnitus assessment at Hobsonville Hearing includes a comprehensive evaluation designed to identify the cause and impact of your tinnitus. Our audiologist will begin with a detailed discussion of your medical history, lifestyle, and specific tinnitus symptoms. This is followed by a hearing test to determine if any hearing loss is contributing to the tinnitus. We may also use specialised tests to measure the pitch and volume of your tinnitus. Based on the results, we provide personalised recommendations and management strategies, such as hearing aids, sound therapy, or further medical referrals if needed.

Is a hearing test covered by insurance?
Coverage for hearing tests varies depending on your insurance provider and plan. We recommend checking with your insurance company to determine if hearing tests are covered under your policy. Please note: Unless you have pre-approval for payment of your appointment, we do not invoice your insurance provider directly. We can provide you with a receipt for reimbursement.
We are Southern Cross affiliated - if you are a member of Southern Cross Heath Insurance, your appointment cost may be partially or fully covered, depending on your policy. We can claim the appointment cost on your behalf at the time of payment using the Southern Cross Easy-Claim platform.
How often should I have my hearing tested?
It is generally recommended to have your hearing tested every two to three years, or annually if you are over 60 or have been exposed to high noise levels. Regular testing helps monitor any changes in your hearing health.
