What comes next after your hearing test?
UNDERSTANDING THE TRIAL PROCESS
At Hobsonville Hearing, we understand that choosing the right hearing aid is a significant decision. That's why we offer a comprehensive hearing aid trial to ensure you find the perfect fit for your lifestyle and hearing needs. Our trial process allows you to experience the benefits of advanced hearing technology in your everyday environment, supported by our expert audiologists who provide personalized guidance every step of the way. Experience the difference firsthand and take the first step towards better hearing with confidence.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR TRIAL
If you choose to proceed with a hearing aid trial, the audiologist will order your hearing aids. The time frame for delivery is typically 2-10 working days, depending on the style you choose (custom hearing aids or earmoulds may take longer).
Once the hearing aids arrive, we will contact you to schedule your fitting. During this appointment, you will learn how to insert, care for and maintain the hearing aids. This appointment runs for approximately one hour; we recommend bringing a support person, such as a family member, as there is a lot of information to take in and it is always good to have an extra set of ears!
After your fitting appointment, we will see you for follow-up appointments one week after the fitting, and continue to do so every two weeks until you feel confident with your hearing aid/s and are ready to finalise.
Once you are confident and ready to finalise, you will sign a finalisation form. This authorises us to claim any relevant funding for your hearing devices (eg. Ministry of Health Subsidy). It is important to note, funding from the Ministry of Health, ACC and Veterans Affairs is available once every six years.
